I know that all of you admirers of Ayn Rand enjoyed my first effort, the classic , "Artless Shrugged". Now I am ready with the promised sequel, "The Fountain Pen"! It, too, takes place in that troubled condominium, "The Nebula". It is the story of a brilliant young designer, Jerry Roark, who has developed a self-filling fountain pen, which he plans to market at a reasonable price. I Love My BOD

Dramatis Personae:

Jerry Roark - the hero of this epic, who has always tried to do his best for The Nebula

The Fabulous Four Directors:

Glorio Teacherman - a vainglorious man who wants his name on every idea that he has stolen from others.
Strengths: intelligence
Weaknesses: unbridled narcissism: investigates the other directors.

Terminada Scrumptious - Teacherman's right hand.
Strengths - Not apparent
Weaknesses - can't think for herself

Dickie Milhouse - enraptured with Glorio Teacherman, and blindly supports him
Strengths - great at sending hand signals
Weaknesses - great at sending hand signals

Don Shuffler- a new director who is guided by the above three members
Strengths - can reproduce; can read hand signals
Weaknesses - reads hand signals.

The attacked:

Frank O. Long - A man who tries to do the right thing but is constantly mouse-trapped by Teacherman, who spent $25,000 of Nebula Money on a fruitless investigation of him. He was hit by a gavel thrown by "The Slugger" the disgraced, and unseated former president of The Nebula, who called him a thief, while throwing it.
Strengths - integrity; decency
Weaknesses - must learn when to duck.

Luna Spingold - as her name suggests, a bright woman who is also the target of Teacherman's wrath.
Strength - bright, articulate
Weaknesses - none apparent

Bibi Wine - the quietest BOD member who is picked on by the Teacherman faction, and is another target of a Teacherman investigation
Strengths - Math
Weaknesses - poor at defending herself

Lucky "Mike" Michelangelo - vocal opponent of Teacherman and his acolytes. and yet another target of Teacherman's "investigations". He was brutally attacked by "The Slugger" who was forced to resign lest the Nebula be sued
Strengths - likeable, sticks up for what he believes to be the right things, genuine
Weaknesses - has refused to use Mafia operatives to break Teacherman's legs.

"The Slugger" - former president of the BOD, who was forced to resign in disgrace due to unprovoked attacks on three other BOD members.
Strengths - a great throwing arm; well-developed street-fighting skills
Weaknesses - Not enough room to list

Tommy "Why me?" Higgins - Thrust into the presidency due to The Slugger's resignation, this gentle man has become overwhelmed by the intra-board strife.
Strengths - decency, honesty, integrity
Weaknesses - can take him a while to realize what is actually going on

Bobo Knucklehead - The Nebula's unprincipled lawyer.
Strengths - charges a lot to be bought off
Weaknesses - well, he's a lawyer

Lanie Counter - A severely disturbed friend of Terminada's who thinks that it is SHE who runs the Nebula. She and Teacherman love and admire one another. She is constantly being exposed for what she is by our hero, Jerry Roark
Strengths - relentlessness in her attacks on Nebula owners; deceit; prevarication
Weaknesses - again, too many to list
