Does anyone know if we are on fire watch in Tower 1 and the Mall since last Saturday or Sunday? It will be interesting to see if our transparent Board alerted our residents if it turns out to be true.

And what were all the fire engines in New Jersey doing in front of Tower 3 last week? Our transparent Board never mentioned that either.

I was told the fire notification system is offline or not functioning in T1 and the Mall. I heard there are overtime security guards walking the stairs and halls in T1 looking for smoke. I believe that means if there is a fire no alarms will go off. Maybe one of the Board members will chime in and explain. Remember how SLava and some other current board members reacted when suefitz was charged with the same offense? Well looks like they are doing the same thing only NOW it's ok because THEY are doing it! Now they can just blame Jan.

I was in the lobby that night. I was told there was a fire on the 35th floor in T3 in a storage room but I don't know the details.

It is true and I didn't know about it even though I'm on the Board and I'm very unhappy about the failure to notify us.

How quickly we forget that there was a fire in Tower 3 in 2006 in which a young woman lost her life.

How quickly we forget there was another serious fire in Tower 1 in 2007.

We paid a lot of money for the new fire safety system In NJ, an electronic fire safety system such as ours has to be maintained by a contractor who is certified to work on the system and who has the proper software keys to reprogram it if something goes wrong. The vendor selected by our former facilities manager didn't have this certification so when problems cropped up, there was no one to fix them.

So that was then and what about now? The new "interim" facilities manager has found a contractor with appropriate qualifications. It seems that a lot of work is required after two years without any routine maintenance. The work is being done.

Meanwhile, we are paying for a firewatch. Don't know how much we're paying but when our old fire safety systems died or were being dismantled between 2004 and 2006, we paid as much as $8000 per week for a fire watch.

Slava knew about it but didn't notify "certain" directors and the residents. So much for transparency. He is worse than Susan.

Sunday morning, about 1 AM, the fire alarm went off in Tower 1. It continued to drone the same information long after everyone had been awakened.

There was lots of smoke but no fire of any consequence. Is it really necessary to continue the message when there is no danger? Can't the system be set to reflect reality? And wouldn't it be nice to have an "All Clear" once all is clear?

Does it surprise you that the ex-Facilities Manager, a bozo appointed, in effect by Mr. Lerner, chose a vendor who was not fully certified to maintain the fire safety warning system? That is more money thrown away thanks to Mr. Lerner and his personnel choices.

Dictator Lerner probably did not notify Barbara Tokay and maybe some other Board members because he was afraid that they would inform the owners. By any reasonable standard, a director's duty is to his/her constituents not to the Board or its president. Thanks for the confirmation, Barbara Tokay. You are a stand-up person.

I think most of us had no idea about this.

Alex, you tell the truth and do not plot and scheme to gain power. If you and other directors were not informed of the current state of affairs, what does that say about the Lerner junta?

It says that we should throw Lerner and his toadies out before they become total dictators.

Alexandra, now that you are on the board, you can't wait to find out what is going on here. You are going to have to be pro-active. Talk to residents and talk to staff.

Alex, I do have confidence in both you and Tristan, and so do many others. The prior poster gave good advice You are not going to get the information you need from our "president." He will only tell you what he wants you to know. The truth is elsewhere.
